Book Week is Nearly Here!

Which books do you think deserve an award this year?

Home & Away?  Leaf?  Polar Boy?  Hard decisions for the judges and harder still for our students who are keen to cast their own votes in our own TPS Book Week Awards next week. Check out our Book Week Blog in the ‘Blogroll’.

We are looking forward to our upcoming workshop with Dave Hackett in September, who will not only talk about his popular chapter books, but give cartooning tips. 2009 has witnessed a growing interest in drawing and cartooning at TPS and I’ve been lucky in purchasing some new drawing books recently. Cookbooks are also walking off the shelves, especially with one avid cook in Yr 4 – a budding Masterchef, perhaps!

The new Andy Griffiths title “Just Macbeth’ will be on our shelves next week and if the stage production is an indication, this book will be VERY popular! His ‘Schoolin’ Around series is rarely on the shelves, with our new principal reserving ‘The Pencil of Doom’!
